Military Police Complaint Form

The legislative mandate of the Military Police Complaints Commission of Canada (MPCC) is found in Part IV of the National Defence Act, "Complaints About or by Military Police."

Anyone may make a conduct complaint regarding the Military Police in the performance of their policing duties or functions, including individuals not directly affected by the subject matter of the complaint. Such complaints are initially dealt with by the Canadian Forces Provost Marshal (CFPM). This complaint form will be forwarded to the CFPM. If a complainant is not satisfied with the disposition of his/her conduct complaint by the CFPM, he/she may request a review by the MPCC.

Military Police members who conduct or supervise investigations may complain about interference in their investigations. The MPCC will deal with the complaint in the first instance.

The personal information on this form will be used by the MPCC or the CFPM for informal resolution, investigation or review purposes. An investigation initiated by the MPCC could, if warranted, lead to a public interest investigation or hearing. The personal information on this form is protected under the Privacy Act, and may be used and disclosed only in accordance with the terms of that Act and of the Access to Information Act.
